Earn Quick Money With Sedo
About a week back, I was just surfing the forum at Digital Point, when I saw lots of proxy sites being sold for very very cheap prices. Proxy sites gets a lot of traffic very quickly and they also get a lot of link back from proxy directories. They were being sold so cheaply, because they need a lot of bandwidth and server resources (of a dedicated server), and most of the people who were selling those proxies didn’t had those resources.
When I checked the back-links for those proxies, there were many with around 100 to 300 unique back-links from various places. Some sites were even getting around 2000 uniques a day. But these sites does not convert well with Google Adsense, so these people were selling them quite cheap from $100 to $200.
I had an experiment in mind. I bought 7 of those proxies for around $1100 and parked them on sedo (which provides paid parking). Those sites in total were getting around 8000 uniques in a day. On sedo, I am around getting 10% CTR rate and making around 60 Euros ($84) a day. In last one week, I have made $580 in sedo earnings.
One more week and I will recover my expenses from them fully. Then after that, it will be pure profit.
I know the traffic will reduce slowly on those sites, but even if it stays for a month, it would be 100% return on my investment.
So, did you get a new idea for earning money? ![]()
While buying proxies, please remember to check the referral stats. Don’t just buy them based on uniques shown in the stats. They are worthless. Check the referrals and from that calculate the number of uniques a month.

The only problem is some people dont yet have the capital to drop a grand on purchasing domains. But, that is a good tip, thanks.

Thats clever jim
Dont you think it would have been worth if you would have added some MFA kind of website instead of parked pages so visitors may come back with adbrite kind of CPM advertising. May have given you more returns.

Thats true, you can try out a simple adsense site with a couple of banners and text link ads. Although this i believe would definitely fetch you a lower CTR.
You can try this after the traffic drops a bit and sedo becomes less profitable.

Amit, in the past I have seen that MFA kind of website gets around half the CTR what the site gets at SEDO.
And ya, I am just about to cover my expenses completely.:)

Hi, Thanks. I’m very interested.
Where do you buy those proxies?

Hi! How do I know which ones have 100-300 unique back-links? Is there a tool?
jimkarter responded on 16 Nov 2007 at 3:11 am #
You just check the backlinks in Yahoo with a command like:

I bought those proxies at digital point forum in buy/sell/trade section.

Does sedo allow referrals..
I Heard that it bans the account if the visitors are directed from referrals.
I have another question
I parked one of my domains at sedo and the niche in the parking was adult content
How can i change that?
Pls reply fast.
I just bookmarked your page and will check it again and again.
Thanks
Tanuj

Sedo says that you cannot direct the traffic to your domain except from (1) type-in traffic, (2) from expired site/domain traffic and (3) for sale threads traffic. So if you post a link to your site to get traffic to your parked page, you may get banned. But in my case, its a traffic from expired (proxy) site.
About changing the niche, you can change it on parking page details.
TANUJ responded on 17 Nov 2007 at 11:29 pm #
What do you mean by “from expired site/domain traffic” ????
As the from expired site/domain traffic comes from referrals and links only.
jimkarter responded on 18 Nov 2007 at 7:40 am #
From expired domain/site I mean a domain which had a previous full fledged site on it, but not it is parked domain.

Hey Jim,
I used to be a invisible reader of your blog without posting comments.
This is the first time I’m commenting.
I implemented the above method with SEDO and I was about to post my earning here in another two days(I made around $1200 with 12 proxy sites). But today I got a mail from SEDO that I was banned
jimkarter responded on 14 Jan 2008 at 2:42 am #
What reason they gave? Did you promoted those sites by any other means except the redirected traffic. That is against their TOS.
Shanthi responded on 14 Jan 2008 at 2:06 pm #
No, I just bought the proxy and parked them.
I was banned just 2 days before the payment day

Do this trick still relevant to implement?
Jim Karter responded on 01 Jul 2008 at 7:28 am #
Guys, please don’t use the trick anymore. People reported that their account got closed.
Pankaj responded on 15 Jul 2008 at 7:54 pm #
Sad to know that we can’t use this trick anymore. I have found your blog yesterday from a forum.
subrat responded on 01 Dec 2008 at 10:31 am #
Namedrive is the best in this case. It has less terms and conditions and also gives the Best CTR.
You can also make Portal like Parked page with This.
I think it will work on this trick.
