November for JimKarter.com
I received some mails about people asking me how well this blog is doing in terms of traffic and monetization. So this is my first post about how the blog is doing.
I registered this domain name jimkarter.com in the month of February 2007. I made my first post in the month of March. But I never started pushing it till the end of October 2007. So November is the first full month for which I have the stats to show. 
So how well I did for the month of November?
In terms of traffic, I received 30,778 page views from 11,494 visits according to my awstats statistics. I am not very much impressed with these, but thats my first month. So I should be happy about it. Where do I want to go from here in terms of traffic statistics? I would like to see 100,000 page view per month after six months. That is my short term target. Lets see how well I achieve it.
In terms of revenue and expenses, let me give some idea about expenses. My expense for the month is only the hosting fee of about $7. Thats it. No other expenses. So all the revenue should be considered as profit.
In terms of revenue, I would like to give it in details on what advertising networks I am using and how well they are doing for me.
Revenue
- Commission Junction: $1,924
- Widget Bucks Referrals: $124.32
- Instant Degree Referrals: $46.75
- Text-Link-Ads Referrals: $25.00 ( 1 referral)
- Google Adsense (Content): $22.19
- Google Adsense (Adwords Referrals): $0.00 (56 sign-ups, 0 conversions as of now)
- Google Adsense (Other Referrals): $6.92
- Casale Media Referrals: $20.69 (22 referrals)
- TNX: $40.00 (11 referrals)
- Total: $2209.87
So, does that mean I will get similar revenue each month? No. This month, I hit the nail right in the head with some CJ programs which may not work for other few months. This month the eCPM is $70.50, what that means is that for every 1000 page views on jimkarter.com, I made $70.50. I think it is little higher eCPM for me to sustain on the site, so for next few months, earnings might be quite less. But I am happy with this month for sure.:)

How do you get ads to appear on your sidebar in perfect squares like that? I found an ad rotator, but wasn’t able to download it. Also, I am unsure where to put it in the code to get it in the sidebar. Any hints?
