Have You Tried BANS or PHPBayPro

I am planning to launch two new websites in my niche, each based on these two CJ/eBay fetching scripts. These two scripts are called BANS and PHPBayPro.

BANS and PHPBayPro are two scripts which enables you to add ebay auctions listings through Commission Junction to your website/blog.

BANS (Build-A-Niche-Store) in itself is a complete website builder. So you can build a complete website just around the niche you choose. Just fill-in the niche related keywords and create a beautiful and clean template for your website and it is done.

BANS

PHPBayPro on other hand is actually a Wordpress plugin by which you can add ebay auctions listings to your blog entries related to your post.

PHPBayPro

Both of these offers various types of customizations. I have already registered two domain in my niche to try each of them. I am planning to do the following:

  1. Register two domains. (Done).
  2. Install BANS on domain1 and PHPBayPro with wordpress on domain2. Also install “All in One SEO Pack” and “Google XML Sitemap” plugins for Wordpress. (Done)
  3. Create two clean/beautiful themes for the sites. (Done)
  4. Create at-least 50 pages of content for each one of them. (In process)
  5. Keep doing link building till I get 500 uniques a day

I think this should take around 3 months of total time. I am expecting that it should make me around $500 or so per site per month. I will post my results after 3 months.

Have any of you have used BANS or PHPBayPro for such projects? If yes, what were your findings? I would love to hear about it.

    Hey,
I have used phpbay and it is really simple. I set up a site and did not even finish it and it has been making me some money month after month. I am sure that if I finished the site it would bring in $500+ per month no problem.

what CMS are you using for creating sites ?
what is the better option in CMS available in the market?

    thanks,
    raja

For these two sites, no other CMS is required. PHPBayPro uses wordpress and BANS has its own proper interface.

If you are asking in general, I never used any CMS for my regular sites. I do my own design and programming in perl or php. I use wordpress for my blogs.

Ha ha ha!! No it is surely not a paid review! As of now I don’t even have a single paid review on my blog.
This post is just to encourage myself and remind myself that I have to do what I have told other that I will do. :)

I have been using BANS for 3 months. Started using it to diversify fom google by linking to it from my established sited above the google ads. I get about 20% more $ from these visitors than what I’d be getting if they clicked on Adsense. Since then have made a few stores in virgin niches for me. I get some traffic and sales to some of them, and one even gives 1:3 ROI from ppc traffic. Jim you should have mentioned the $25 you get for new ebay sign ups. I get more than 10 of those a months which makes up two thirds of the BANS income. CJ send the checks in my local currency so the money is easy to spend also.

Thumps Up Andrew! That is really encouraging. :)

of what i heard to really start making money online with phpbay you need a good site and to really work hard

  16. Nesa responded on 08 Feb 2008 at 12:32 pm #

Wht happens when you carte a store using BANS? I guess you need to promote it, right? Are people suing search traffic for their stores or using cpc to drive traffic to these stores?

  17. jimkarter responded on 08 Feb 2008 at 10:35 pm #

My idea is to promote it and get search engine traffic. I don’t recommend PPC traffic.

The interface of BANS is $97. Is it possible to make an eBay affiliate site without this interface?

  19. Fatih responded on 09 Feb 2008 at 5:44 pm #

    Also;
I am not in USA, but I want to target USA marketplace. Can I do that?

  20. Fatih responded on 10 Feb 2008 at 2:27 am #

I know this is third one but I am new at internet marketing. So, please help.
In eBay affiliate program, are we paying for links? Because they are very expensive?
You didn’t answer the previous ones but I am still waiting.

  21. Fatih responded on 10 Feb 2008 at 2:29 am #

and what is the mean of “3 Month EPC (USD)” and “7 Day EPC (USD)”.

  22. jimkarter responded on 10 Feb 2008 at 5:44 am #

If you are approved to run ebay ads on commission junction then you can do that. But as per my knowledge, eBay is not approving people outside USA.

“3 Month EPC (USD)” on CJ is to show you your “adverage cost per 100 clicks”, similarly “7 Day EPC (USD)” is for 7 day average.

  23. Tim responded on 12 Feb 2008 at 10:14 am #

I am outside from US and tried to apply eBay affiliate program but got declined immediately by the system. Had been sending few emails to them but no response. Is there a better way to apply eBay affiliate program? I am thinking to register a U.S. virtual office address and register a new CJ account and reapply eBay affiliate program. Do you think this is a better way?

    Jimmy.

Why are you unnecessarily flaunting the two products and bragging about that you’ll make so and so much amount of dollars.

Plz don’t talk unrealistic; making fool of everybody by placing hidden affiliate links of BANS and PHPBAYPRO with ‘onmouseover’ and ‘onmouseout’.
I’ll definitely come back to your site, not for information but to check if you’ve guts to publish my comment.

    thanks

  26. Toronto responded on 18 Feb 2008 at 11:51 am #

Katie, I do not why you are calling Jim out on the affiliate links.

Jim has proven over the years to know how to generate some cash from the web. And his multi step methods (as noted above) are the proper way to go. He is not saying install the programs and wham you are making money. He clearly states that it takes time.

So his affiliate links are really not a big deal.

  27. Chad responded on 20 Feb 2008 at 6:45 pm #

I think this is a great goal Jim, not sure why Katie got mad for you putting links on YOUR blog hmmm I would assume everyone will realize that you are promoting this product aswell as using it yourself and you will show your earnings like you promised.. Guess she is just mad that she did not think of it:)

    Good Luck..

  28. Jim Karter responded on 21 Feb 2008 at 6:08 am #

Katie, I am not flaunting or bragging about the two products. I read a lot about them on digitalpoint forum. Many people are using them to make money. So I thought why not give it a try my own way. I made a post so that I can track it in future.
About the affiliate links, oh yes, why not. Whats the harm if I get any referrals from them? I have not praised the products or anything like that. I will not do that until I find them useful.

[…] BANS and PHPBayPro Sales Some of you, who regularly visit my blog may remember that around 10 days back I made a post about whether you have tried BANS and PHPBayPro. I also mentioned in that thread that I will try it too. I gave it a try and I did see some quick results in just 10 days. I created two new websites. One is using BANS and the other is based on PHPBayPro and Wordpress. Both of these sites were created on around 6 months old websites which was already using my link strategies and was have a page rank of 2. Both of these sites already have few back links pointing to them. I started the site on 5th of February. Added some unique content. Provided some back-links to some of the internal pages from my directories. Submitted sitemap to Google. Within a week, both of these sites has at-least one thousand+ pages listed in Google. 2 days back, I made my first sale with the BANS site. Rirst sale for PHPBayPro site came yesterday. Till the writing of this post, I have I 4 sales with BANS site and one with PHPBayPro. I am expecting the sales to grow with time as I am adding more and more unique content to the sites and more and more pages are being indexed. Please remember that there are many similar sites available online. So you have to provide some value to your site by adding good unique content to it. Without it, these sites may not work wonders. So, do I recommend these products to others? Yes, I highly recommed BANS which is working great for me. I also recommend PHPBayPro for people who are already familiar with Wordpress blog software and would like to stick to it and make money. […]

I just looked at http://www.ebid.ie, which is a testimonial site on phpbay.com’s home page. The auction pages are not in Google or Yahoo’s index and only the home page is in Live. This means the site has to rely on the original content on the 16 or so indexed pages. Thus JK’s approach of building 50 or more content pages is very sound.

I attended a presentation about BAMS from a user and checked out the crawlability of its sites. It is only slightly more crawlable, but nothing to write home about. Original content rules again.
