Seasonal Website Marketing
There is some type of marketing and sales which is season based, for example Christmas, Halloween, Valentine Day, Mother’s Day etc. So as and when these seasonal marketing time comes, I try to get more related links from related websites around a month before the season.
Valentines day is coming soon and so I have started promoting my valentines, relationship and gift related websites more. This time I am little late because of my vacations. But late is better than never.
So what sort of websites I am promoting and how? Right now I am promoting mostly gift related affiliate based websites by getting some good and very targeted links from other related sites. I am getting links from sites related to gifts, jewelery, toys, perfume, and clothes.
I mostly use amazon.com, buy.com and some other merchants from Commission Junction.
So what is my aim for this valentines day campaign?
Get my immediate investment back through affiliate sales, as those links will help me in long term. So if I get my immediate investment back on or before valentines day, then in long term I am in profit. In long term, those links will be free to me.

You say you are getting links from related gifts, perfumes, etc. websites. How is it possible to get quality links in such a short time?
I read the post on DP regarding your earnings and was wondering whether you buy links or not (as you say, ‘get my immediate investment back’ - is that refering to what you paid for some links?)

Yes Nick, I try to get “in-content” life time links from various blogs and related sites by whatever means. When I say “advertising” doesn’t advertising involve money.

You could always offer something to webmasters for a quality link, so make it hard for them to resist

I was thinking about buying a bunch of websites and trying to re-sell them after doing some work making them more valuable, do you think there is any use in doing something like that, or would your way be better way to monetize domains?

In the short term you would get better money in what are you trying to do, in the long term, my way.
But try both ways, try every way possible, don’t leave any money on the table.
