Is Kontera having Troubles?
Kontera is my second biggest earners. I think I am doing pretty good with them. I loved them. Last month I made around $7,000+ with them. I was expecting to do pretty good with Kontera this month and was expecting to cross $9000. But seems Kontera is having some problems with their system this month.
Last week, they had some trouble with their “reporting system”. I was told from my AM that the problem is only with the reporting system and ads are being served fine. But the earnings I saw in my account were quite less compared to what I usually make. Later, I was told through an email that there was some errors in ad serving also and I will be compensated for something like $100+ for it. I really appreciated it. There is hardly any advertising that would take such steps to compensate their publishers. Thanks Kontera for this.
But then, again for the full week, I am seeing that my page impressions (and hence the earnings) are atleast 20% down from the respective weekly averages. I again contacted my AM and I was told that things are fine, there is no problem. I checked stats on my site and they are still consistent.
Every alternate day, I am seeing this “504 Gateway Time-out” while trying to login to my reporting console. I even checked their blog to see if there is any update on there. I thought, if there is some trouble with their system, they would at-least update it on blog, but, nothing.
Is this time to think that there are already many in-content networks in the market?
I am not sure what to think at this point. Are any of you using Kontera seeing any such decrease?

Well i do see something strange with it. I have much less impressions then for example adsense on my blog. Maybe 2000 less. i find this kinda strange.

yes it’s happening since last week, they doing maintenance work , but it;s been almost 2 weeks. last time it was from 12th march.. now from 17th march. hope they may add new features !!

I hope it is maintenance only. But I am not sure that this “504 Gateway Time-out” is a maintenance error. Though I am able to right login now.

I was having some problems with contera but today I managed to login successfully.
There is something wrong in stats also…. they are showing less impressions but I think they will come through with this problem.

Do you think introducing Kontera is a bad idea if you have a respected blog? Currently i only have adsense and placed in a way that it does not become too intrusive, but at the same time they are placed in areas where they are well exposed.
I have applied and got accepted by Kontera about a month ago, however, I have still yet to install the code on the blog because I am not sure if my regular readers will like it.

No Nesa, Kontera is a great product I would say. It has really worked great for me. But I think there is just some problem at their backend from a week or so, which they may be trying to fix. As you can see I mentioned that it is my second biggest earner. I love them because they work best with Adsense, without reducing Adsense earnings.

Thanx Vered for the comments. I have received a mail from Alice and I think it will be sorted out soon. But I would still like u to know that I am still getting those 504 errors (just right now) at dc.kontera.com and publishers.kontera.com Have posted the screenshots to Alice.

It’s nice that you have diversified and that you don’t rely on Kontera solely for your money. Diversification is the best thing that any new young webmaster can learn… because life happens, and you won’t always earn what you expect to earn (sometimes more, sometimes less)

Yes, I am having the same trouble. Their site was giving the same error today too. I also got the email about crediting my account for the days when the ads were down.
Hope they get it sorted out soon.

Their data updation is also very slow.I can see the stats till 18th march while today it’s 20th march.I don’t know why this is happening with contera.
Adsense shows quick(after 10 mins) stats after got the impression or click on ads.I hope contera can do something for it.

I have not been able to log in since they changed it. I guess I have had bad luck and just keep getting the 504 error each time.. But I feel better now with this post and the fact that other people have been able to log in. Thanks for the post mate.

It seems whatever their problems were, it did not affect my earnings. In fact, my earnings went up slightly. I did get an email recently from my new account manager…might have something to do with it. Now, I’m not earning what you are, Jim, but from $3 per day to $6 per day is an improvement, right?

I do agree that Kontera is a good, and they also provide fast support respond too. Few of my site are using their service also, and i do hope their system problem will solved soon. Previously, when i login to my account, i also saw the stat problem, and when i contact them, they are very helpful and reply in a very short time too.

Now its all normal !
There are times like that when earning are little lower due to maintenance ,but there also are occasions when earning are much bigger due the same thing.For example i have got ~3 times more earning about new year…
Maybe its a little new year gift but i don’t believe so

I dont use them on my forums. Makes forums slow in loading. Gzip unabled forums means very fast loading, konterra loads slow, jams scrolling, specially on laptops.

I haven’t had similar problems as yours, but indeed i think and it is normal, that they have some small problems since they upgraded everything lately. For example I blocked and advertiser from appearing in my site, but still I do see that same advertiser appearing from time to time (a bit annoying I have to admit, but prefer to give them some more time and contact them again about this very issue).

for a couple days Kontera wasn’t serving ads and the script was giving errors on my pages. It seems to be fixed now and everything is back to normal. Actually I think Kontera is getting more valuable clicks lately, and that is a good thing.

I think now they are working fine.
All the updation is going as expected but still sometimes they do have problems.
I hope they will improve it as the time goes.

It’s amazing you are making 7000+ with Kontera. Yet to read any blog that make more than 2K. You are the highest I come across? You make it with one or multiple site?

Curious as to how pay they pay per click. I read on some other blog that its pennies.
