Adsense Referral Tracking Issue
I have recently had some referral tracking issues with my “Adwords referrals” program at Google. I was seeing “conversions” but was not being paid. I could not resolve it with the support. They gave some weired reasons and I could not argue.
But today, Randy (from grownupgeek.com), who is one of the biggest firefox referral publisher, made a post about firefox referral tracking issues which he is seeing in his reports. He says that somebody from Google confirmed it that there is some bug, which is being addressed.
So does it mean that all the money which was not tracked will be lost? Or, will publishers will be compensated? I think surely not. Google will not even talk about it, I am not sure how somebody from Google even confirmed it to a publisher that it is a bug.
Are you using Adsense Referrals? Did any of you see any such problem?

I don’t use Adsense referrers. I am not sure that it’s happening with every adsense referrer user, but by seeing the above responses, I guess every user is facing the problem. Weird problem. Good luck and hope you get credited when the issue has been fixed.

I got the same canned responses when my Firefox Referrals dropped from $30-$40 per day down to $3-$5 per day.
It seems like this is a place where Yahoo! could really take a bite out of Google. I absolutely abhor Google’s Adsense Customer Service. It’s awful - almost as if they learned their “canned response” skills from Miss Teen USA. If another PPC Contextual Publisher could come up with a way to offer more personal customer service - even if the revenues were 15-20% lower at first, I would consider switching in a heartbeat.

Hello-
Yes, I had problems with some referrals not paying anything. It would show 3 or 4 referrals and only one commission.
They do have some nice programs that pay $10-$20 or more just for someone requesting information though.

Which products are you talking about?

I’m not getting any conversions on any referall products for the last 5 days - used to get a few conversions a day …. I suspect something is amiss.
Like you Jim, I also wonder ‘what’ they would do ‘when’ they discover the problem. If it’s too difficult to reconcile this period, I guess that they will fall on the side of the adwords advertisers rather than the adsense publishers.

Yes. Even I have not see conversions in last 4/5 days. I used to get around 3 to 5 conversions a day. But today I see again 5 conversions. I am not sure what is happening.

Yeah I felt this hit…it happened just around the time I placed a link on a big site of mine. Banner software showed tons of clicks but only 2 downloads? Impossible since 80% of users had IE.
