Crossing $9000/month with Kontera

Most part of April, I was out on vacation. But it seems my sites were doing good even when I was not seeing them. :) With Kontera, I am crossing the bigger and bigger number every month. In February I did $7,000+ with Kontera. In march I crossed $8,000 mark with them. And now in the month of April, it seems I will be crossing $9,000 mark.

As per the current Kontera stats (from 1st April to 27th April), I am seeing $8,944.64 in my account for the month. And there are still three more days to go. I am assuming that I will surely cross the $9,000 mark for April. Then, there is this affiliate earnings as well, from the banner on the right hand side of this blog. Kontera reports the affiliate earnings only at the end of the month.

I use Kontera on my 30+ sites only. Here is the current screenshot (click to enlarge):

Now, does this mean $10,000 is my Kontera earnings target for May 2008?
Well, I am in the process of setting up two new companies in Gurgaon, Delhi. So, I may not be able to concentrate much on my websites for May 2008. But let me still keep the target for May 2008 at $10,000 in Kontera earnings. There is better to have a bigger target than smaller one.

    Wow !!

    The results seems very impressive to me, but can i ask on how big is your network of wesites where you got that much $$$$ in a month ? I’m more than frustrated to know the giant network, as i’m still on penies :(

    I mentioned it in the post that these kontera earnings are from 30+ sites. You can count them in the screen-shot as well.

    Well, congratulation Jim ! I don’t know what’s wrong with me and Kontera, I use it on my blog, i have more tha 1k impression daily with 20-30 clicks but they pay me pennies ! 0.01 per click and they don’t count well too !

    @Zak Show, may be that they don’t have advertisers in the niche you are running them.

    @red, they normally pay through check, paypal and direct deposit. I get paid via direct deposit.

    @Indian Travel Guide, ya, that would a nice blog post.:)

    @Gaurav, one venture in gurgaon is IT related and the other one in HR. It would surely have some overlap with the current one. I will be in Gurgaon for around 10 days in starting from 4th I think. Ya, surely we can grab lunch together at DT or nearby.

    They have cpm of 94cents and epc of 3cents for my blog ……… sucks when adsense for similar site pays cpm of 6$

    Can I ask what your ECPM is with Kontera? Mine’s about $2; I’m making under a buck a day. I heard it takes a while for the system to calibrate to the site, but it’s been a few weeks now and I wonder if the links/ad concept to readers in the content is worth the pennies I’m making per day.
    Anyone that can share insight into ECPM, quick tips on optimizing or taking a look at my site for recommendations, I’d be grateful.

    Wow, Some decent money. I couldn’t believe these are from just 30+ sites. I think you have over 200+ sites, if you implement on them also, you should be making a lot! Why don’t you do so?

    @IMBlogger, there may be many reasons for not implementing Kontera on all of my sites. Some sites may not have text content (like wallpapers etc.), some sites may not convert well with Kontera, and some sites are just quite new as of now.

    @v Jassan, the screenshot, its not earnings per day. Its earnings per site, for the month.

    Jim, I could not see lot of success with Kontera yet. I tried using it on Finance niche blogs but alas! Even with good traffic, it’s just not working with me.

    By the way, what software you use for image copyright for your wallpaper site?

    great earnings from knotera, but the CPM that you are getting is about - $1.699 which is pretty low. So far am also getting about $1 to $3 for about 1000 ads impressions [Not fixed cpm], and if i try the same with adsense then it’s atleast 5 times more than kontera!!

    I still have Kontera on some of my sites. However, I switched to Chitika Linx on the higher traffic sites.

    With Kontera I see $0.01 - $0.02 average clicks. With Chitika Linx I see $0.07 - $0.09 average clicks.

    Jim, do you use Chitika Linx?

    @Gopal Tripathi, I have just received my company check for Google Adsense. It is Rs. 1,631,935.36 which is $40,941.68 for the month of March 2008. I will be posting the screenshot soon. Let me take it.. hey, where is my cam. :)

    @Women’s Health Magazine, Yes, I do use Chitika Linx on some of my other sites, but not on the few on which I use Kontera. You have to test and test and test to see which one works better for you. Chitika linx, in my view, works better on consumer products related websites.

    I am trying Chitika Linx on one of my big websites. Will post the results soon as a blog post here.

    Yes, it does. But the amount of money you get for visitors from other countries may not be that great.

    I emailed today Kontera and they said that with cost per impresions they only work with some publishers so I belive you are one of them.
    What you are doing with Kontera it is not available for all publishers just for a few of them.

    Maybe that’s why you are making so much with them and other , the simply users don’t.

    I am happy with you and keep up the good work .
    Maybe in the future we all also be accepted by Kontera like you.

    carera, I think it won’t make much of a difference whether I am on CPC based program or CPM based. Some of my sites are good quality content sites which has very good keywords for Kontera advertisers. So its not that CPC things will not work. I am sure for me also CPC will work as soon.

    And to tell you even further, I have just added around 10 more sites with them this month on CPC basis and not CPM basis. And I am sure the results would be same.

    I have big loss with CPC. Two weeks ago I received 75$/day for 200 clicks and now I receive only 2$ for 150 clicks. Can someone tell me why is this drop of my earnings?

    Hi Jim, I am glad I stumbled onto your blog. Very impressive numbers with Kontera however you seem to be generating those revenue numbers from a huge volume of traffic. Your eCPM$ is 1.70 however I am using Chitika Linx and my eCPM$ is 5.70. Have you tried using Chitika? You also did not indicate your actual clicks. My CPC payout on Chitika has been about .11 lately. If you had a 1% CTR on your 5 million + impressions that would put you at about .17 CPC with Kontera. i would be curious to know what your CPC and CTR is. I too have several blogs and was thinking to try Kontera. I keep hearing about .01-.02 CPC however. Hope to hear from you. i would like to see some of your other blogs. Regards, ElectroGeek

    i first posted back in June 08. I tested Kontera on one of my blogs recently and was amazed at how poorly it performed. At .01-.04 per click it was a dismal earner compared to Chitika Linx. Imagine how much Jim could earn using Chitika Linx. Why waste your time with Kontera?
