April 2008 Earnings: $63,341.16

I know its quite late to post those earnings for the month of April 2008. But I am still out of station. I am in Delhi and will be here for another 8 more days. I just received the revenue report from my team 2 days back but did not get the time to put it online. Finally today I decided to take out some time and put it online. So here it is.

In the month of April 2008, I earned a total of $63,341.16 from my various websites. This is little below my expectations. I was expecting to cross the figure of $70,000. But this is also due to a fact that one advertising network (ARICASH) cheated me and have run away with my $9,000 in earnings. Anyways, thats an expensive lesson learned.

Adsense is still the biggest earner at $35,500+ (which is less than March’s $36,780). Kontera is the second biggest earner making me around $10,000. Other big earners are Casale Media, ValueClickMedia and health affiliate programs (LECash, Market Health and Sytropin). Text link ads is also a big earner but the earnings are falling month after month, and this month is not different. I am compensating it by using TNX.

So, what are my plans for May 2008?
Well, I am not going any aggressive for May 2008, because I will be out of station for most part of the month. I expect to cross $65,000 in earnings.

    ARICASH was really a very bad experience for me. It is my fault also. I did not read reviews around them. I did not verified that the model they are using can actually work. What I saw was that they were paying $100 per sale. If I would have taken proper care, then I should have tested them with just some part of site and see if they pay. But I used put them completely replacing all my other affiliates on the site. It made around $9000 in two months. They don’t pay me. They don’t reply my emails. Account is still active. Once in a while there are still “repeat” customers who bought from them and then bought it again.

    But they are not replying my emails and have not received the payment which is long due now.

    About the pie chart, I just get the report in google docs spreadsheet, so I use use the google docs pie chart.

    @Luca, Jim has told us that he has hundreds sites so it is possible to earn that amount, many of his sites ranked on the first page of Google.

    @Dia, I mostly invest it. :) And, its not that I am making such type of money from years. :)

    @Gino J, John may be earning higher than me. I don’t know. What he shows on his blog is his earnings from his blog. What I show is my earnings from my many websites (and not just blog).

    @moneydude, that is a long term project. So expect the updated once (or at most twice) a month.

    @Mary_Freebies, Yes. Some people work for me. They do all type of work like content development, marketing, administration etc. I really like my team.

    I’m curious. You can’t really be counting on this little blog, so why don’t you open it up as do-follow? I really think it would help it to grow, and then you can pimp even more affiliate links and bump your network up over the 70k mark. Have you thought about it???

    @do follow, If I make my blog a dofollow, it will be listed on a lot of dofollow lists and will get a hell lot traffic. But I am sure I will not be able to build the type of community I am trying to build around this blog. I will be getting a lots of useless crappy “Good post Jim” kind of comments instead of useful ones.

    @make money blog, I think I have to write it off, because if I put in the time to recover it, it would be more expensive than $9000. Also, I think ARICASH did more damage to themselves than me. If they would have paid me, they would have made the same amount month after month.

    @super cars, The alternative I used are LECash, Market Health and Sytropin. I have got paid from each one of them.

    @sceptics, its ok to be skeptic. :) I surely don’t reply any such mails.

    @peter, the top earning website would bring around $5K or so. High volume and average CPC.

    @SteeL, Ya adbrite and kontera can be a good combo, but nothing like adsense and kontera.

    @dia, thats from Adsense only.

    @Jason, Oh yes. I use TNX and really like it as compared to its competetors.

    Wordpress is the only CMS I have ever used. But I have not used it more than 5% to 6% of my sites. Else I used my own custom scripts.

    Congratulations again.

    Just a quick question. Is there a specific requirement to join Kontera? Do you need certain traffic before you can join them or can more or less anyone join them? I’m thinking of monetizing one of my sites using Kontera which already has Adsense for over 2 years.

    As far as I know Kontera doesn’t have any specific requirement for joining. So, I think anybody can join them.
