Keep It Simple, Stupid

Every day, you hear about entrepreneurs starting new projects. Some with great ambitions, others just looking for a way to pass their time. Most with a plan, but only some willing to work for it.
Most of those projects will fail.
Everyone cannot succeed in what they do, and this is no different in offline or online. Some people are going to have to fail, and the entrepreneurial breed tends to fail more than the others.
While a large part of that is uncontrollable, a lot of these failures could be prevented. One of the reasons so many projects fail is because entrepreneurs tend to over-complicate things.
These days, you need to run faster just to stand still. Or so goes the common cliché. However, some entrepreneurs tend to take it just a little too strongly.
Look at some of the biggest brands out there days, Google, Nike, Adidas, Firefox. Google’s homepage is one of the ugliest ones out there, yet it is probably the most profitable organization online. Most of the clothing created by Nike and Adidas consists of a plain background with a couple patterns here and there and sells for far more than ‘regular’ clothing would. Learn from them.
When launching a project, everything doesn’t have to be perfect. Some of the most profitable projects I’ve launched have taken less than an hour to get together, and some of the least profitable projects I’ve launched have taken days to get ready.
This especially holds true for bloggers as well. I’ve seen new bloggers worry about the plugins they should use, spending days picking a theme, double and triple spell checking posts before they go. Then in they end they are generally failing.
If you are too perfect, you will struggle to surpass yourself.
One of the greatest things about entrepreneurship is that we can always improve, always tweak something to make it better, always have mistakes that teach us something. So don’t worry about fixing them all at the beginning and try to start with a bang.
Of course, I do not mean jump into a project without any preparation, but you shouldn’t spend so much time so that it takes away from the fun of it all. Remember, if you’ve had an idea, other people will have it too. There’s always the chance that someone could beat you to the punch if you delay too long.
We’re all people, not robots, and people make mistakes. Massive ones too, as I’ve frustratingly found out during my time as an entrepreneur. However, I’d rather make those mistakes and have learned something than not make them at all, and I’m sure you will too.
For your next project, don’t prepare for hours, don’t test and test and test until you’re blue in the face, don’t analyse every bit of it and wonder how you could improve. Just jump in. Let me know how it goes. You’ll be pretty surprised!

It is a good title to the post and good advice to an extent but you can’t just jump straight in with every idea that comes into your head and slap up half finished junk.
You’d waste more time and money that way

Absolutely spot on advice, do not sit for too long thinking about taking action. Get out there and give it a go.
I for one have made some big mistakes jumping in and buying domains and stuff based on the latest trend which didn’t go anywhere, but recently I jumped on something quickly and decisively and now doing great.

I like this encouraging article. It’s good for less capital business. We have nothing to loose when fail. But for business with big capital, I think we need more planning.

I’m surprised to see your post title which is similar to mine K.I.S(Sweet).S(Simple) a few days ago. Looks like we have the same thought.
The trend in blogging world also turn out to be in this manner. People don’t really read the long and lengthy type of article anymore.
I think keeping it short and simple is a good way to turn business into success.

I am not too sure whether the post justified its title. Besides, I fail to comprehend how could some one just say that Google home page is one of the ugliest page on the internet!!!

Keeping things simple actually requires more effort.
It is easy to write long posts, but to cut out the clutter, organize and improve readability, takes time.

I love this post. Entrepreneurship is definitely about starting and improving, instead of starting only when you are perfect.

I think to keep it simple stupid is working only when you have a plan. Because you plan your work, and work on your plan. By improving your plan until you find the right way and method, then you can update your plan into a proven success plan. So, then work on your proven success plan again and again until increase your result.
