Adsense Referrals Retiring: Big Loss
One of my blog post provides links to free adwords coupons. This blog posts has top rankings on Google search engine for many keywords like “adwords coupons”, “free adwords coupons” etc. This post alone makes around $1000+/month with Adsense Referrals.
Now Adsense Referrals is retiring. And it is surely a big loss to me. I also don’t have any other alternatives for it.
Does any of you had any similar problem? Do you have any alternatives? Please share.
Welcome back!

The loss of the Google Pack referral is killing me. They cut the rate in half (from $2 to $1) a while back, which was rough. Now it’s going away completely.
For a few years, I had built up traffic to one specific page on one of my sites specifically for the Google Pack. It was making well over $1000/month until they dropped the rate. Since then, I’ve been slowly phasing it out, and now that’s proving to be a good move. I don’t have a way to directly replace that income, but filtering the link juice from that page to other pages on the site, it’s largely made up the difference.

It seems that everyone is reporting lower payouts. Is it possible that ad revenues are going down?
Has anyone had success with some of the other features like Feeds or Mobile?

yes i have that problem too can’t get referral money from adsense anymore
Jim Karter responded on 19 Aug 2008 at 7:54 pm #
Adsense earnings are lower for me too from last 2 months or so (may be US slowdown).
But I am getting into affiliate marketing big time, so it is taking care of it all.

Isn’t Google replacing the referral program with something else? Won’t people just be able to switch to the new program?
Mickey responded on 20 Aug 2008 at 4:12 am #
Ray - They are, and you can. However, it won’t include many of the previous products, such as AdSense referrals, Google Pack referrals and Firefox referrals.

It won’t be as easy, but what about advertising some Clickbank products like Get Google Ads Free, would be good commission for the sort of traffic you get.

I am going to wait for a while to see the new trend where do the google adsense users move to.

I never made real money from that program, so it won’t give any differences to me now.

Google Chrome is one of the reasons why these referals are stopping..

Certainly is a big loss. Is google affiliates somehow sort of trying to replace it?
Forex Robot Reviews responded on 21 Sep 2008 at 10:03 am #

I know exactly how you feel, my previous site used to rank on the top 10 for the name of the affiliate program ( won’t mention for obvious reasons) I made a post on, this particular post made me lots of cash until the company decided to cut down on the referral payments.
