Adsense Tips from Google
Yesterday, I received a call by a lady from Google Adsense team about optimizing some ads on one of my sites. She gave me few tips on how to optimize the ads on the pages to bring in more clicks and better eCPM.
Out of those, the one I would like to point out is this:
Test all your link placements on a page (may be sitewide) with the help of channels. Then find the placement which is giving you the maximum CTR. This many not be giving the maximum revenue, but maximum CTR.
Now edit the HTML of your page is such a manner that the visible appearance of your page is not changed, but that ad placement (which is bringing in high CTR) should come as the first ad from the Google adsense.
This will surely bring in more revenue as Google serves high paying ads first, followed by lower paying ones. So the ad-block which is coming first in the html of the page will be serving the highest paying ads. This may not be visibly the top ad placement.
I hope this small Adsense tip may be useful to my readers too.
[BTW: Sorry for not writing a post from such a long time. I was more than busy with things. Chemotherapy case study will be coming soon.]

I am doing this for a long time.
But,is there any difference between ad units and link units.
Link units no matter what position have much lower PPC.
So i am suspect that this one is true only for adunits.
What do you think Jim?

I fail to understand why would a lady call only you and then tell you these tips which are not available on the internet. (If Google had to reveal such a tip, then they would ideally hav posted it on the Official Adsense blog)
If that had been the case, then we would already hve seen many people already bloggin about it (especially Adsense publishers in the US which earn far more)

Google Adsense has only email customer support, I guess Jim forgot that and made this story. If these tips helped you then don’t focus on the story.

Jim,
PR dropped!!! Why so?? As per my knowledge you are updating your blog frequently with good content and true story..
Anyways, what is the status of Echemotherapy…:)

I dunno why soome of the guys here are very surprised at call from Google..
Its google duty to call the webmasters who are earning a lot for them. They need not call every one as said by someone on top.If they do so ,its nothing but damaging there brand !!
@bull
hehehe
They have a ISD facility to dial International users
And for your information google has got 4 offices in India.

Hi Jim
I think the readers on this site are eagerly awaiting your chemo site update.
Quick question for you - I notice you use a 250×250 ad layout side-by-side below the headline on the echemotherapy site. Is this adsense layout the best you have found as a result of your testing ( overall ) in terms of CTR/Earnings.

I believe Jim is experiencing a big loss in earnings because of some recent google algo changes to wipe out spammy content, thus no time for updates on the blog.
I am a competitor to some of his websites and I’ve seen him sunk.
I could be wrong though…
Anyhow, we’d all like to see you to take 5 minutes and post an update on what’s going on, what’s new and what not.

I always suspected his earnings, though he is good wid his stuff and very much convincing.
May be JimKarter.com is just one of his other sites (if other sites exost at all), which has managed to bore him to the extent of … discarding it of his to-dos…
Come what may, he has definitely portrayed his dedication towards loyal readers and all those who belived in him….
I recall reading his post yesterday on DP, uhh… that was 3 days old..
hehe.. im outta his readership list… good luck to all you guyz..
