Need For New Webmaster Forum

These days there are too many webmasters forums online. But none of them is trying to be a great one. The biggies like WMW, DP, V7N are becoming more and more useless day by day. Some are not being moderated well while others are being left by people for other reasons.

WMW has those bizarre rules which I really hate. DP is becoming useless as the Shawn is no more there and all those crazy group of moderators are not doing any good. Too many newbies and scammers at DP are making it useless. V7n on the other hand is now no more being visited by members and looks abandoned.

There are many others as well, but none of them is trying to be a serious and good one.

That strategy also means that we don’t have rules to prevent people from mentioning their own sites. This is a forum for webmasters – we are all marketers. Entrepreneurs are excited about their current projects. Our community members should be free to talk about the things which excite them.

I know Will Spencer from long. I also know that he manages some very good and big websites. He has extensive experience in this field. I am sure he will be able to manage http://www.netbuilders.org quite well.

Currently the forums is quite new. As of now it has only 86 members (including me). If Will can bring in some good big names (members) into the forum and can make them active, I am sure it can make big. People like me are actually looking for a new place to hang around.

    How many forums are you member of?

    And how regularly are on the forums?

    I am on five-six forums but managing, contents for all blogs, then advertising and many things, sometimes its week when I log back on those forums.

    I learned so much from DP, but its really sad to see the sorry state of nowadays. Only thread i can see are

    1. I got $$ for a click
    2. I am completing my 100000 post
    3. I got banned by adsense
    4. I got scammed
    5. How can i earn $$$$$$ in one month on my website.

    and n on n on

    So, i would also give netbuilders a chance.

    I think the forums are as good as the people who maintain them. I remember DigitalPoint used to be such a good place when Shawn used to maintain it. Now its going down day by day. I know Will.Spencer from some forums and know that he can surely do it. But for how long he will do it as well is also something to note.

    Will, are you going to maintain it for long?

    Vandita, I currently frequent at DP the most and marketplace of sitepoint. But recently DP it is going down and down. So I think netbuilders is a good option.

    Lets see how it comes up with time.

    Sadly, it is the nature of the game. Sites do not always remain useful as you develop your skills and specialisms. You soon outgrow them. DP is a perfect example. It is a great place to learn the ropes (sometimes the hard way and at considerable expense) but with the passage of time the need to move on becomes evident. Best of luck to Will Spencer and netbuilders.org - let’s hope they can fill the growing vacuum in webmaster space.

    before actually jumping in to a new one, or maybe create your own dreaming to be big without even trying to broadcast the forum, then it will be useless,
    DP and v7n was once a good place but then it is now full of people scamming and the same question is being ask,

    DP is screwed up! I left it a while ago when I have a pass problem. I think that there are some kids that play the moderators role over there:

    I do not think DP is bad forum. It is quite solid. I have learned many things there. Been scamed several times but doesn’t mind.

    All newbies to true, in DP, it is just a s**thole, for newbies to talk with other newbies, and mods that are worse than the newbies.

    V7N is home, love them, don’t really talk much about IM or SEO or Anything web related really, but still fun :D

    Most forums are just there for others to exploit by scamming and blackhatters, can make $100-$500 doing nothing but scamming in one day. Many ways, but not good to spread. :D

    I agree about DP it is so badly moderated, the good guys get banned and the spammers are allowed to get away with murder.

    Not only that. I have seen instances where a spammers get other ban who oppose them just because one/some of the moderators is/are his friends(s).

    I got banned from DP for no reason for a week, this wouldn’t have been a problem, but I get a fair bit of traffic from my sig links there so not good when they get disabled during a ban.

    yes thats true its really needed now as on DP i found in last few days people are literaly bagging for 1 or 5 dollars. so you can imagine how it is messed up. let see how promising is this forum. thanx for sharing jim.

    Seems like a lot of people are talking about Netbuilders at the moment. I am not sure about that forum not registered yet but another good one is Niche Choppers.

    I have checked this forum once again after reading in your post and I found that only 12 users were online there.
